Gauging Time Reversal Symmetry in Quantum Gravity: Arrow of Time from a Confinement–Deconfinement Transition.

Project Overview

This project investigates the emergence of the arrow of time from quantum gravity through a novel confinement-deconfinement transition mechanism. We study time reversal symmetry and its breaking in loop quantum gravity using tensor network methods, Monte Carlo simulations, and exact diagonalization.

Key Areas

  • Volume operator spectrum and Z₂ structure
  • Intertwiner space constructions for n-valent vertices
  • Z₂ lattice gauge theory Monte Carlo simulations
  • Spin foam amplitudes and domain wall dynamics
  • Entanglement entropy in quantum gravity
  • CZX PEPS tensor network ground states
